UNDER THE BRIDGE
Lord, it has been a long time
Since last I stopped to write.
Much troubled water has passed
Under your peaceful bridge.
But I chose to stand
In the stream
Rather than on that bridge.
I want to rest upon
Your quiet, peaceful bridge,
But the path from here to there
Eludes my searching eye.
I try to move,
But find my feet
Solidly mired
And set in mud
Beneath the rushing stream.
The waters have slowed
But in the stream
Still I choose to stand.
I could climb out
By leaving my boots
Inside the miry mud.
But by analogy I see
The muddy fears of losing
That which I value most
As in bootless peace I'd stand
Upon your quiet bridge.

GROW ME ANOTHER MIRACLE

In my life I've seen
The many miracles
You've given me:
Some came as a lightening flash:
Here and done in an instant;
Others grew to fullness
Over many days
Coming to fruition
At the end of painful changes.
Some applied directly,
Just to me;
Others came through me
To someone else;
And many more were miracles
That I only witnessed.
As I observe the pain around me
I ask, oh, Lord,
Please grow me another miracle
That will show those
Now closely watching
That you are still
A caring, loving God
In control of all things.

WINNERS
So many trials and troubles
Leave me feeling glum,
I look around and wonder
What the world is coming to.
Everywhere I see destruction,
God's people under attack.
I wonder why I continue to fight
But then I am reminded
That though troubles do prevail
In the end we win!
You see, I've read the Bible
Right to the very end,
And though I don't know when or how,
There is no doubt we win!

REVEALED TRUTH

As you choose to travel
The path God sets before you,
Many people will interject
Their opinions of your choices.
You'll be told where you're wrong
And what to do instead;
They'll tell you, in loving kindness,
It is for your own good.
Heads will shake and faces frown
As you continue onward.
In all their negativity
You must e'er recall:
Nobody can ever tell you
What the Holy Spirit reveals to you
Except the Holy Spirit.
