POEM: Be Careful*POEM: Said and Heard*POEM: Cleaning*
POEM: Majority?

BE CAREFUL
When you ask God

To touch the heart
Of the perfect person
For a specific job
Be ready
To hear him call you.

As you pray,
"God open the heart
Of the one you would have
Do this job."
Be prepared
To answer that call
When he places it
On your own heart.

When you pray
For God to send someone,
Be careful:
He could choose you
And be ready
To go and do
As he has called.

SAID AND HEARD
Men will hear the slightest sound

If it has to do with sports;
Men will never miss
The call to dinner;
Men's brains work just fine
When they are told
Their newborn is a boy.
But let a woman speak
And narry a word is heard.
His wife (or mother)
Could shout from two feet away
But unless she's telling him
It's time for dinner
Or the game is on,
Or it's a boy,
All brain cells cease to function
And he'll not hear
A word she's said!

CLEANING
You scrub and polish and dust

To keep your house so neat
But when you turn around
Nothing has stayed clean.

You vacuum and wash and straighten
The clutter surrounding you.
But then you look again and see
It must be done again.

You put all things where they belong
Then dust and vacuum and clean
Only to find there's more to do
Than you've already done.

Here's is a lesson all mothers learn
Much to their dismay:
Cleaning house with the children there
Is like using a snowblower in a blizzard.

MAJORITY?
It is considered a majority

When more people
Are on one side
Of an issue
Than on the other.
A majority only means
That more people are for an issue
Than are against it.
Or it could be
That more are against it
Than are for it.
A majority on one side
Doesn't always mean
That is the right side,
Sometimes the majority
Only means
All the fools are on the same side!
