THE
SONG
Sometimes
the words and music
Of my life
can make no song.
Daily what
I see is discord
Of all
that could go wrong.
There is
no harmony
As I now
try to sing it.
Peace is
not found in seeking,
For only
God can bring it.
But Jesus
takes disharmony
And all
of life's discord
Making
it a lovely song
With peace
an added reward.

LIFE
A
collection of scenes:
Recollections
With no
connections;
Mental
photographs
With little
laughs,
Full of
interludes
And attitudes;
Comes in
bits and parts
Of fits
and starts;
Still memories
Remembered
still.

MEMORIES
Memories
both good and bad
Of the
life I have had:
Coming
back, some haunting me
With the
fears then taunting me.
Hearing
read my favorite ryhmes,
Thinking
that the best of times;
Braids
that tempted many yanks;
Picnics
taken on river banks;
Through
the woods I'd walk with friends
Hoping
childhood would never end.
Looking
back, this thought I shout:
Hold on
to good, the rest throw out.

THE
PAPER
She
gave us a paper
Containing
two columns.
On the
left it said:
"Without
God"
And underneath
were many words,
Naming
how life could be
If God
were not a part of it.
On the
right it said:
"With God"
And beneath
this heading
Was blank
whiteness.
Words,
for me,
Can only
limit
What I
am describing.
And so
in this paper I saw
What life
with God can be.
Without
God
Life holds
no more
Than the
limitations
Of the
words on that paper.
But with
God
Life is
an unlimited sea
Of blank
white possibilities.
