POEM: Looking to Hear POEM: Friendship POEM: Broken Cisterns and Cracked Pots POEM: God Knew Me When

LOOKING TO HEAR

I'm looking to hear
In all the noise
Of my hectic life,
The Lord saying to me,
"This way, this way."
I'm listening intently to hear
Beyond the clamor
Of all that craves
My full attention,
The still small voice of God
As he calls to me,
"Come, follow me."
My ears are open wide
To hear in that quiet voice
Beneath the waves of sound
That constantly surround me
The words of my Savior
As he points the way.

FRIENDSHIP
Friendship is the rope

That ties us together
With knots that set us free.
Friendship is the chain

That binds us to each other
With links that let us be.
Friendship is the prison

That locks us all inside
With a love that sets us free.
Friendship is the net

That draws us close together
With a love that lets us be.

BROKEN CISTERNS AND CRACKED POTS

Broken cisterns and cracked pots
Have something in common:
Neither can hold very much.
But by turning back
To the Spring of Living Water
And accepting God's touch,
Broken cisterns are not needed
And cracked pots allow
The glory of God to shine forth.

GOD KNEW ME WHEN

God knew me when,
Way back when:
When I was still a nothing,
Not even a twinkle,
Anywhere.
God knew who'd I'd be,
And where I'd go.
He set a path
For my life,
A special plan
Just for me.
God knew everything
That I'd become:
He knew what I'd do,
And how I'd do it.
He knew the mistakes I'd make.
He even saw my turnings from him.
God knew it all
And still gave me life.
